Mollye is an artist and a verteran art educator. She offers local art lessons in her home studio in the Gower area of Greenville, SC. She loves working with students of all ages. Offerings include a wide variety of media - drawing, painting (acrylic and watercolor), printmaking, clay, collage, book arts, and more!
About Me:
Hi, I’m Mollye Spitler, the clay artist behind Mollye South Designs. I’m also an art educator and I’ve been teaching art in public schools to K-8th grade students for over 15 years. I’ve taught art to all ages, but especially love working with younger students. I’ve hosted art camps and lessons in my home studio through the years. I was awarded the 2021 SC Art Educator of the Year from South Carolina Art Education Association and I’ve recieved Teacher of the Year awards from both schools where I’ve taught in Greenville.
How do my art lessons work???
I work full time as a local art teacher, so my art lessons are by request and specially arranged times. Most lessons are done after school hours or on a weekend. You may have interest in an hour here and there, or you may want to plan consistent lessons per semester! I prefer to work in small groups for lessons so teaching is more specific and tailored to your child. If you’d like to gather a small group of friends together for a lesson, that is wonderful too. Please just reach out and we can talk about what works best! I can create the curriculum or you can request any special focus for the art lessons.
Individual Lessons (1-3 students) `~ $60/hr per student
Small Group Lessons (4-6 students) `~ $50/hr per student

What about Summer
Art Camps ???
In the summer, I do have a little more flexibility of schedule and balance rest with teaching :) I try to offer one main camp week in my backyard studio so I can see more students at one time. I keep the numbers low so we can do more detailed (and cooler!) projects with wider variety of art media. My studio is equipped with a kiln and other clay materials. Summer camps may include drawing, painting, collage, clay, sculpture, and more!
If you have interest in pulling together a small group or having a few shorter sessions throughout the summer, please reach out and that may be possible!
